At left, the Page Turners Book Club (for boys only) has begun meeting every Thursday afternoon in the library at North Central Middle School. “We're full to capacity,” says school librarian Cindy Sparks. The 12 boys will meet for 10 weeks and are enjoying the book Stranded 2: Trial by Fire by author Jeff Probst, best associated with the Survivor TV series. Along with reading together, the boys enjoy an after school snack, hands on activities related to the book and weekly door prizes. Members receive official membership cards and club bracelets, above right. Club activities are featured on a large bulletin board right outside the doors of the library.
