The Camden High School baseball coaching staff will host its annual Father-Son Baseball Camp on Saturday, March 8 at American Legion Park in Camden.
The event is being sponsored by the Kershaw County Parks and Recreation Department.
The camp, which focuses on the fundamentals of the game will be held from 9 a.m. until noon. Youngsters ages five and older and their parent/guardian are invited to attend the session.
The cost is $30 per father/son pair with an additional $5 charge for more than one youngster from the same family.
The cost includes tickets for that afternoon’s 4 p.m. baseball game between the University of South Carolina and Brown University to be played at Carolina Stadium in Columbia. Those attending the father/son camp may travel to the stadium via car pool leaving from American Legion Park at 2:30 p.m. that afternoon.
The camp itself will focus on the fundamentals of pitching, catching and hitting with the parent and sibling(s) participating in the drills together in the hopes that the father will reinforce the fundamentals to their son(s) in the future.
All registration will be done through the Kershaw County Parks and Recreation Department in advance of the camp. There will not be a walk-up registration since an accurate count for tickets must be turned into USC prior to March 8.
To register for or receive more information on the father/son camp,, please contact the Kershaw County Parks and Recreation Department at 425-6009.
