For the month of January, the Pine Grove Baptist Church AWANA youth ministry conducted a canned and non-perishable food drive for a monthly mission project supported by members of the church. January was titled as “Can-Do Anything” month based on the scripture Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” With a goal of 1000 food items for the project, AWANA clubbers and church members brought in more than 1700 items of food. Pastor Eric Boone announced the Mission Project each Sunday to the parents and church members; who brought food donations in each week. All of the food collected for the Mission Project was donated to the Christian Community Ministries in Camden on Tuesday February 4. It took two trips to deliver all of the food collected. This is the 10th year of the Awana Children and Youth Ministry at Pine Grove which accepts kids and youth from pre-school up to High School every Sunday night from 6-8 p.m. on Pine Grove Road in Lugoff. Services are also offered for adults every Sunday evening during the same time period in the sanctuary.
