CCC to recognize CPD officers Tuesday

Camden City Council will confer special recognition on four Camden Police Department (CPD) officers during its meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. There will be no afternoon work session.

Being recognized are CPD Capt. Mike Stone, the American Legion’s 2013 Officer of the Year 2013; Ptl. John Patton, the CPD’s own 2013 Police Officer of the Year; Ptl. Penny Lloyd, receiving the CPD’s Wilson Clyburn Award; and Sgt. James Steele, who received an award from the S.C. Law Enforcement Network.

Council will also consider reappointing Michael E. Stegner and Roderick M. Todd Jr. as municipal judges and confer their oaths of office should council vote to reappoint them. Also, council will consider second reading of an ordinance adopting a five-year update to the city’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

Tuesday’s meeting will be held on the second floor of Camden City Hall, 1000 Lyttleton St., and is open to the public.
