CJWL accepting grant, scholarship applications

The Camden Junior Welfare League (CJWL) is now accepting applications for grant money to be awarded to 501 (c) (3) organizations specifically dealing with children in the Kershaw County area. Grants range from $250.00 to $2,500.00.

The application is available for download at and completed proposals should be mailed to CJWL, P.O. Box 578, Camden, SC 29021.

Proposals must be received by April 1. If you have any questions, you may contact Kayla Shoemake at The League office is not staffed; therefore, proposals are only accepted via mail.

The CJWL is also now accepting applications for the 2014 CJWL College Scholarship for graduating seniors planning to major in a "helping" profession such as healthcare, social work, teaching, ministry, etc.

The League will award a $1,000 scholarship to one graduating senior from each of Kershaw County’s three high schools.

The application is available from each high school’s guidance department. Completed applications must be submitted to the high school’s guidance department by April 30, 2012.
