Last week students from Camden High and Lugoff-Elgin High used their spirit weeks to raise money for their local community.  Students sponsored car washes, carnivals, bake sales, class challenges, t-shirt sales, penny wars and other creative activities to raise $20,832 for the United Way of Kershaw County (UWKC), beating last year’s efforts by more than $7,000. At Friday night’s LEHS vs. CHS football game, student government leaders from each school gathered in opposite end zones to display their total amount collected; LEHS edged CHS by just more than $400 to earn this year’s bragging rights.
