Lady Demons cruise past Ridge View, 8-1

Lugoff-Elgin continued on its path to next Thursday’s Region 4-4A showdown at Blythewood by handing Ridge View an 8-1 loss in a Tuesday night contest played in Columbia.
The victory gave the Lady Demons an 11-2 overall record and a 3-1 mark in conference play with the lone setback being a 2-1 loss to Blythewood two weeks ago.
Junior Erin Blizzard earned her 10th win in 12 decisions for James Marlow’s troops as the right-hander threw five innings of three-hit ball with four strikeouts. The lone Blazers’ run was unearned.
Offensively, senior Delaney Guerrero led the way with a 3-for-3 night while scoring two runs. Kelly Graham had a pair of doubles and an RBI in four at-bats while Sophie Holland had a double while driving in three runs and scoring twice while Baleigh Lunsford plated three runs with a double while scoring a run.
The Lady Demons will play host to Spring Valley tonight in a 7 p.m. start.
