Six Lugoff-Elgin Middle School and a pair of Lugoff-Elgin High School wrestlers returned home from last month’s South Carolina Youth Wrestling Association State Championships at River Bluff High School with top three finishes. Pictured here, on the bottom row from left, are Devin Wilson, a state champion at 100 pounds, Seth Wages, the 80-pound state champion, and Hunter Mathis, the runner-up at 105 pounds. The back row is made up of Jacob Carron, state champion at 120 pounds, Seth Branham, the 200-pound state champion, and Taylor Jones, the third-place finisher at 160 pounds. In addition, Lugoff-Elgin High School freshmen Noah North and Taylor Catoe finished second at 125 and 130 pounds, respectively.
