Serpas held L-E top Vikings, 3-2

Lugoff-Elgin all but clinched a state 4A baseball playoff berth with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over visiting Spring Valley Friday night.
Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, the Demons received a leadoff single from Russ Radcliff. Gunner Smith followed with a hit and run double to left. Both runs scored on a Blake Serpas liner to right center for the 3-2 lead.
Brock Robinson, who came on in relief of starter Seth Nelson in the fifth inning, would shut the Vikings down I the seventh to pick up his second win of the season.
The Demons improved to 5-1 in Region 4-4A play, keeping Randy Stokes’ troops leading the six-team circuit.
The Demons host Irmo tonight in a 6:30 p.m. start.
