On behalf of the Tour de Camden bicycle ride I would like to thank the Camden City Police and the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department. On Saturday April 12, 2014 we held the Tour de Camden with the ride beginning en masse from Historic Camden. We had about 150 riders of all levels of ability.

The Camden City Police got us out of the parking lot safely and through the first two left turns. The first turn was onto Black River Road and then onto Tickle Hill Road. They were very efficient in getting us on the way and through those two busy intersections safely.

When the riders arrived at the intersection of Tickle Hill Road and Highway 34 a Sheriff’s Department Officer got us safely around the corner. Another Officer was just up Highway 34 to help us with a left turn onto Hermitage Pond Road.

We cannot say enough about the courtesy with which these Officers treated the participants and organizers of the ride. They were more than willing to help and were very efficient. It is obvious that they understand the need for bicyclists to be assured safe roads and to be treated with respect. With their assistance everyone finished the ride safely.

Again thank you to these two Law Enforcement Agencies and especially to the Officers who were with us.
