Deputies make arrest for meth lab

A Lugoff man was arrested Wednesday, April 9 after Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies found equipment and supplies used to manufacture methamphetamine at his home. A KCSO report said Michael Dean Thompson, 25, 1759 Baughman Road was taken into custody after deputies paid a visit to the home after receiving information that Thompson had been making excessive purchases of pseudoephedrine, an over-the-counter cold remedy used to make methamphetamine. The report said deputies found plastic drink bottles with methamphetamine waste in the yard and in a burn barrel. The home is reportedly owned by Thompson’s relatives who live ...
