The Kershaw County Council meets in a regularly scheduled meeting tomorrow night. First on the agenda are two public presentations, one by Motorola regarding E-911 texting services. The other is a presentation by Laurey Carpenter on the West Wateree Community Playground project.

Only one ordinance is listed on the agenda. Council will consider first reading of an ordinance regarding entering into an installment purchase transaction to finance all or part of the costs of making improvements to the Kershaw County Detention Center and county recreational facilities, improvements to the campus of Central Carolina Technical College and "other authorized purposes." The ordinance says the amount is not to exceed $8.5 million.

Also on the agenda is a resolution declaring the intention of the county to reimburse itself for certain expenditures with the proceeds of the debt to be issued by the county. Kershaw County Administrator Vic Carpenter was on vacation last week and was unavailable to provide an explanation.

Under new business, council will issue a proclamation honoring Correctional Officers and Employees Week and will have a discussion on a home consortium.

The meeting is open to the public and will begin at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow in the council chambers at the Kershaw County Government Center, 515 Walnut Street, Camden.
