THE CAMDEN HUNT HOUNDS and their handlers will compete in Saturday’s Carolinas Hound Show at the Springdale Race Course in Camden.

Springdale Race Course will host the Carolinas Hound Show on Saturday, May 10, at 9 a.m.
Foxhounds, Beagles and Bassets from fox hunts located in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia will be kenneled at the Springdale Race Course. Several breeds of fox hounds, including English, American, Penn-Marydels, Crossbreds, and for the first time this year, Beagles and Bassets, will be judged at this bench show, which is sanctioned by the Masters of Foxhounds Association of America.
The hounds will be judged on their conformation according to breed standards with the champions of each breed competing for Grand Champion Foxhound. The final class, a Pack Class, will judge how a group of hounds out in the field respond to their huntsman commands.  There are also children classes which are grouped by age to be judged on their skill in handling the hounds they are showing.
The Hound Show is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be furnished by The Humane Society.  Also, a lunch will be available for $15.
Spectators are asked to enter Springdale Race Course from Knights Hill Road and head to the grandstand, where the show rings and kennels are located.
