The South Carolina Philharmonic (SCP) performed a free concert at KershawHealth Friday as part of the “Where in the Midlands is Morihiko?” free concert series. A woodwind and string ensemble made up of SCP musicians performed for visitors and residents in the hospital lobby.

“Where in the Midlands is Morihiko?” is an outreach initiative of the SCP funded by the Pierrine & Hootie Johnson Fund through the Central Carolina Community Foundation. A $10,000 grant allows Music Director Morihiko Nakahara and small ensembles of SCP musicians to venture into the community to perform free, one-hour public concerts around the Midlands leading up to each 2010/2011 Masterworks Series concert.
