n in Saturday’s AAA state track and field championships held at Spring Valley High School.
Sumpter, a senior, ran a 48.44 while Bacon crossed the finish line in 48.00. Sumpter also took fifth place in the AAA 200-meter dash with a final time of 22.22 to account for all 12 Bulldog points.
Camden’s 4 x 400-meter relay team was disqualified from that event for an infraction which negated what would have been a second-place finish. The quartet of Carlos Williams, Josh Sumpter, George Randolph and Jordan Sumpter were clocked at 3:26.95, which would have been good for second behind Hanahan, only for the Dogs’ time to be erased due to the infraction.
On Friday afternoon, Camden High junior Morgan Wilson accounted for all five Lady Bulldog points in the AAA girls’ championship as she finished fourth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 8-6.
