Sgt. Robert "Bob" Ansel Geddings

A funeral service with full military honors, to celebrate the life of Sgt. Robert "Bob" Ansel Geddings, US Air Force, Ret. of North Myrtle Beach, will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Lugoff First Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Dave Robinson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Geddings memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, 7020 AC Skinner Parkway, Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256

Mr. Geddings, 72, husband of Saime Gunes Tukel Geddings, was born in Sumter, SC, the son of the late Annie Lucile Avins Geddings and Marvin Ansel Geddings. He served in the United States Air Force, having completed three tours of duty in Viet Nam. Mr. Geddings was the owner/operator of Convenience Corner in Conway, SC. for 22 years.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, Gunes, whom he met in Turkey, Mr. Geddings is survived by one daughter, Melody V. Geddings of North Myrtle Beach; granddaughters Lorin D. Myers of Columbia, and Kendra R. Joyner of Conway; three great-grand kids, Hailey Myers, Brook Meyers of Columbia, and Brantley D. Hilliker of Conway; sisters, Betty L. Stokes and Katherine Lucille "Lucy" Price, both of Charleston; brother, Marvin Dale Geddings, of Guyton, GA, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Denise Eileen Geddings.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is assisting the family.
