The Colonels Creek Boating Access Area in Ridgeway, on Lake Wateree will be closed for approximately one week beginning June 9 to allow for necessary paving repairs to the parking area.

Weather permitting, the access area will reopen on June 16th.

"These maintenance repairs are part of ongoing efforts by Duke Energy to ensure quality access areas are available to the recreational boating public for use at our lakes," John Crutchfield, director of Duke Energy’s public safety and recreation strategy planning services said.

Boaters may use the Wateree Creek, Taylors Creek and June Creek Access Areas as alternates during this time.
