School gyms open for Kershaw County youth

The Kershaw County School District and the Kershaw County Recreation Department have partnered to offer free recreational opportunities to local youth age 12 to 18.

Each week during the summer, the gyms for middle and high schools across the county will be open for girls to play basketball and volleyball and for boys to play basketball.  The games will be supervised by recreation department staff. 

No pre-registration is required, and students do not have to attend every week.  Students must sign in the first time they attend. 

The schedule for open gyms is:

Mondays (5:30 to 8:30 p.m.)

Camden Middle School gym: boys

Lugoff-Elgin High School gym: girls

North Central High School gym: girls

North Central Middle School gym: boys

Tuesdays (5:30 to 8:30 p.m.)

Lugoff-Elgin Middle School gym: boys

Saturdays (9 a.m. to noon)

Camden High School gym: girls
