Blythewood duo wins Take A Child Fishing tourney

William and Bryan Holmes from Blythewood had a total haul of 19.59 pounds to win the 31st annual Take A Child Bass Fishing Tournament, held in memory of  longtime event supporters and Wateree Marina proprietors, Tommy and Lib Phillips, on Lake Wateree May 17.
A total of 59 teams took part in the one-day event with the top 20 finishing teams earning cash prizes and a trophy. The top 40 finishing teams earned cash awards.
Finishing in second place with a 18.78 pound catch were Zack and Walt Almond of Camden while Camden’s Wil and Mitch Stines were third with a 17.63-pound haul.
Rounding out the top 10 finishers, their hometowns and weight haul, in order, were: Jordan and Joey Bramlett (Darlington, 17.63 pounds),  Bailey and Donald Myers (Gastonia, N.C., 17.55 pounds), Logan and Josh McGregor (Timmonsville, 17.47 pounds), Abby and Joey Outlaw (Camden, 16.11 pounds), Layne and Donald Hinson (Lugoff, 14.52 pounds), Fisher and Deoral Rodgers (Camden, 13.05 pounds) and Rachel and Danny Johnson (Hartsville, 12.73 pounds).
The tournament organizers would like to thanks the sponsors, businesses and members of the community who donated their time, money and effort into making the tournament a fun-filled day for youth and adult anglers alike and for helping to make the tournament a success.
