I read with dismay your headline article "Thomley sues Matthews for $2 million" --- who can believe this?

I worked in politics (in another state) for nearly 30 years. I have seen jealousy, envy, slimy political campaigns --- as well as many good-hearted, well intentioned people....but NEVER have I encountered such unprofessional, petty behavior on the part of someone who proclaims his concern for our citizens. Any good feelings I had toward Mr. Thomley are now gone.

If Mr. Thomley, in his quiet, reflective moments wonders why he and his predecessor have lost their "power", this law suit is clearly one of the answers.

No matter how well-intentioned one claims to be, when one whimpers and mewls and demands payment from the taxpayers for having his feelings hurt he should be ashamed.

The professionalism of Sheriff Matthews is the primary reason he was elected in the first place....and the second place, etc. We are a growing population with well educated citizens who deserve to be rid of the "good ole boy" attitude symbolized by the "pot bellied sheriff and his band of merry men"....

I pray that Mr. Thomley reconsiders his actions and withdraws this lawsuit ... I also pray he grows up in the near term.
