Summer camps with the Recreation Center

Etiquette Camp

Campers will master over 50 different etiquette skills including table manners, proper introductions, telephone manners, dealing with teasing and bullying, being a guest and much, much more!

This will be accomplished through the use of music, games, stories, treats, role play and discussions. Campers will take home a t-shirt and other great Etiquette Factory items.

DATES/HOURS: July 21 - 24, Monday through Thursday / 9:00 A.M. - Noon

LOCATION: Recreation Department Building, Small Room

AGES: 6 - 10 years old

COST: $85.00

Pre-registration Required by July 16

Junior Golf Camp

Learn the fundamentals of golf or improve your skills in this camp instructed by Matt McCarley, PGA professional. Beginners through advanced golfers are welcome.

DATES: July 14 - 17, Monday through Thursday / 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.

LOCATION: Camden Country Club, Knights Hill Road, Camden

AGES: 7 - 17 years old

COST: $85 per camper

Pre-registration Required by July 9

Volleyball Camp

This camp is for beginners through intermediate players. Beginners will focus on skill development and work toward game play. Intermediate players will refine their skills and work on more advanced team concepts.

Players will be grouped by skill level. Instructing the camp will be Camden High Varsity Coach, Paige Wilson with coaching staff and high school players assisting.

DATES: July 7 - 11, Monday through Friday / 9:00 A.M. – Noon

LOCATION: Camden High School Gym, 1022 Ehrenclou Drive, Camden

AGES: 8 & up (beginner - advanced)

COST: $60.00 (includes t-shirt) $5 reduction for each additional child

Swim Lessons

Private Swim lessons are student and teacher only. The student will be taught on the level needed.

Group Lessons are 3 to 6 students per class. At least 3 students need to be registered for the class to be held. Group lessons are $55 for eight lessons / Mon. – Thurs. (2 weeks). Private lessons are $50 for 4 lessons / Mon. – Thurs. (1 week)

Registration for all lessons are held at the Parks & Recreation Department Office, Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Sign-ups will continue until 4:00 pm on the Thursday before the beginning of the session

No transfers after the Thursday before the lesson starts on Monday.

No makeup lessons or refunds will be given unless lesson is canceled as a result of threatening weather or error on the part of the facility.

Bricks 4 Kidz Camps

There will be a variety of camps offered during the summer for boys and girls ranging from ages 5 and up. Listed below are the titles for each camp and the week/time offered. For camp description, please refer to their website: Sessions will be helD at our Recreation Department office in the small room. Pre-registration is required and there is a minimum requirement for each camp in order to be held. Each camp is $100 per child.


June 23-27: 8 a.m. to Noon - Extreme Expeditions (age 5+)

1 to 5 p.m. - Mining and Crafting (age 8+)

July 28 - Aug. 1: 8 a.m. to Noon - Space Adventures/Star Wars (age 5+)

1 to 5 p.m. - Super Hero Academy I (ages 5 - 8)

Aug. 4 - 8: 8 a.m. to Noon - Comic Book Creator (age 7+)

1 to 5 p.m. - Animal Grossology (age 5 +)

Aug. 11 - 15: 8 a.m. to Noon - Angry Birds/Bad Piglets (age 5+)

1 to 5 p.m. - Stop Motion Animation/Movie Making I (age 7+)

Creative Art Camp

Join Derek Napper and assistants for three days of creative fun. Participants will experience a variety of art forms and will be able to take home several pieces of their own artwork. Students will create drawings, paintings, and a variety of craft projects. Materials will be provided.


July 14 – 16, Monday through Wednesday / 9 a.m. - Noon

6 - 12 years old


$45 per child

"H20 Fun" Camp

This Swim Camp is offered to boys and girls ages 6 - 11 who already have basic swimming skills.

They must be able to swim 25 yards independently. The instructors are experienced Red Cross Lifeguards. They will provide unique and fun activities in and out of the pool. Participants will learn how to play safely as a team in and around water as well as having tons of fun! This is not a swim lesson, it is recreation only.


July 28 - 31, Monday through Thursday / 9 a.m. – Noon

6 - 11 years old
