Funeral services to celebrate the life of Leonard M. Davis, Jr. 69, of Camden, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 21, 2014 at Hermitage Baptist Church in Camden. The Rev. Jason Fletcher will officiate. Burial with Masonic rites will follow in Wateree Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM, 1 hour prior to the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made in Leonard’s memory to Hermitage Baptist Church, Arise & Build Fund, 814 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Camden, SC 29020 or the American Heart Association of SC, Memorials & Tributes, P O Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 24058

Leonard M. Davis, Jr., husband of Susan Humphreys Davis, died Saturday, July 19, 2014. He was born in Camden, SC, the son of the late Vivian McIntosh and L. Murray Davis, Sr. Leonard was a 20 year retiree from the Illinois National Guard, retired from the Civil Service in Illinois, was a former purchasing agent for New South and worked for Planning & Zoning for Kershaw County. He was a life member of Kershaw Lodge 29, a life member of Camden Shrine Club, and was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, Leonard is survived by his sons, Daniel "Danny" Davis of Camden and David "Mike" Davis of Camden; foster daughter, Claudine Janik and foster son, Steve Tipton, both of Illinois; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jessie Davis of Camden.

Besides his parents, Leonard was predeceased by his daughter, Deanna Lynn Davis; his sister, Doris McCaskill and his brother, William "Bill" Davis.
