Funeral services to celebrate the life of Barbara Badger Spitzer, 83, of Camden, SC, will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church. Rev. Dave Robinson and Rev. Todd Warnock will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Barbara’s memory to Antioch Baptist Church, 1875 Antioch Road, Camden, SC 29020

Barbara Badger Spitzer, widow of George Henry Spitzer, died Tuesday, August 8, 2014. She was born in Gaffney, SC on December 22, 1930, the daughter of the late Jeanette Kendrick Badger Peay and James Fred Badger. Barbara was a graduate of St. Andrews High School in Charleston, SC. She was the founder of Spitzer’s Florists in 1974 and a member of Antioch Baptist Church, a past worthy matron of O.E.S. Chapter 111, past president of the Camden Business and Professional Women’s Club, former Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star and farm and city week chairperson.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Virginia Spitzer of Camden, Lisbeth Aunock of Camden and Margaret Jeanette Spitzer-Sorrell (Dwight); sons, Danny George Spitzer (Dale) of Camden, Paul Andrew Spitzer (Gloria) of Camden and Russell Fred Spitzer (Karen) of Lugoff, 17 grandchildren,21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson; sisters, Nell Lutge and Jacqueline Morrison, both of Charleston; brothers, Jimmy Badger of Biloxi, MS, Kenneth Badger of Charleston, Ben Badger of Petal, MS and Joe Badger of Charleston. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Badger and a son-in-law, Richard Aumock.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
