Patricia Richardson won the second quarter Chance Art award from Camden Art this year. Richardson was happy to receive her original work of art from Emily Houde, a local professional artist from Camden. The work of art was hand an original painted lampshade on a contemporary lamp stand valued at $150. Richardson said she expected to win because she admires Emily’s work so much, She just knew she had to win.


Chance Art is an art awareness initiative sponsored by Camden Art – a nonprofit organization in Camden. The organization offers the art award quarterly throughout the year. The purpose of the program is to promote visual art produced by local artists in the area and to also encourage collecting art produced by talented and inspiring local artists. The Camden Art organizations next meting is September 8 at 7PM, the Bassett Gallery. The public is invited to attend all meetings, workshops and special presentations at the Gallery.
