The Kershaw County School Board selected a local native to serve as an assistant principal at Lugoff-Elgin High School (L-EHS).

Jeff Carraway -- who formerly taught physical education and coached at both Lugoff-Elgin Middle and L-EHS -- is returning to his alma mater to help lead the West Wateree high school. Carraway most recently taught physical education at Dent Middle School but also taught and coached in Decautur, Ala.

“Mr. Carraway has a strong familiarity with the Lugoff-Elgin area,” Kershaw County School District Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan said. “In addition to knowing our community so well, he brings experience and perspective from another state that will be helpful in his new role.”

Carraway has a Master of Education Leadership from the American College of Education and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina at Coastal Carolina.

Married to the former Chrissy Faulkenberry, the Carraways have two children.
