The art of the hot dog

Families and friends enjoyed hot dogs and other food and fun during the Fine Art Center of Kershaw County’s 2013 edition of its annual open house and hot dog lunch a year ago. This year’s event will take place Sept. 6 from 11:30 to 1 p.m.

  The Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County is hosting its 2014 Arts Open House and Hot Dog Lunch on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the FAC grounds.

Hosted by the FAC Multi-Cultural Committee, the event is free and the public is invited to attend. The public is invited to participate in a fun community art project; tours of the FAC; pottery, dance and music demonstrations; plus some  entertainment. Visitors can register for classes and meet some of the great teachers.

In addition, members of the Camden Art Association, Camden Music Association, and the Quilters of Kershaw County will be on hand displaying some of their work and recruiting new members.

The Kershaw County Library will have its bookmobile on site for anyone interested in checking out a great book, and the Camden Fire Department will have a fire truck on display.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about the FAC’s upcoming fall season at this fun, family oriented event.

“It will be a great way to bring our community together and enjoy getting familiar with everything the FAC has to offer Kershaw County,” FAC Director of Marketing Jane Peterson said.

The FAC is located at 810 Lyttleton St. in Camden. Gallery hours are Monday through Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information please about the FAC call 425-7676 ext. 300 or visit the FAC website at www.fineartscenter.org.
