Henry Stradford kicked off the 2014 edition of the Chronicle-Independent weekly football contest by turning in a perfect entry sheet and only missing the final point total for the Clemson at Georgia game (played on Aug. 30) by one point.
For his winning entry, the Camden resident and former state championship-winning track and field coach at Camden High School earned the $50 first prize.
Also turning in 14-0 sheets by coming up short on the tie-breaker were Trey Riggan, Patricia Castleberry, Cecil Browder and Lewis O’Quinn.
The football contest is included in each Monday edition of the Chronicle-Independent throughout the college football regular season.
