The Knights of Columbus Council of Camden will not kick off their annual Operation Hope Drive until Sept. 25, but Mayor Tony Scully made a donation at Camden City Hall Wednesday, Sept. 10, making him the first person to donate and get the first Tootise Roll from the Knights.

Each year, the Knights of Columbus conduct this annual drive where they collect donations and hand out Tootsie Rolls in front of Kershaw County stores. Proceeds go to the Kershaw County Disabilities and Special Needs Foundation.

Last year, they raised $5,189 to donate. This year the drive will begin Sept. 25 and end Oct. 4. Members will be taking donations and handing out Tootsie Rolls in front of various stores from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
