The Kershaw Council meets Tuesday. KershawHealth will make a presentation on the hospital’s latest advertising campaign.

Council will vote on third and final reading of an ordinance that would rezone a certain property from R-10 to B-2. Third reading is also on the agenda that would modify how the council takes votes during meetings. The new rule would call for roll-call votes rather than the current practice of using a “show of hands.”

Council will consider second reading of an ordinance that would allow the county to sell a piece of surplus property in the Sandy Grove community. At council’s last meeting the property was described as 6.1 acres with a community building that the county maintains but never uses. Also up for second reading is an ordinance that would allow the county to demolish dwellings determined to be unsafe or a public nuisance. The cost of the demolition would be added to the property owners tax bill.

Council will discuss purchasing a 2014 Dodge truck for the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office and will talk over granting a contract for the Kershaw County Detention Center to McDaniel Supply.

Council meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Kershaw County Government Center, 515 Walnut St., Camden.
