Kershaw County School District (KCSD) administrators will present end-of-course results to the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees during its meeting Tuesday, set for 6 p.m. in North Central High School’s media center. KCSD Director for Student Assessment Lavoy Carter will report on the percentage of students who passed each section of the end-of-course exams from 2012, 2013 and 2014, an analysis of those scores and a plan for improvement.

KCSD Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Dr. Connie Long, Executive Director for K-12 Instruction Tim Hopkins and Director for Communications Mary Anne Byrd will all present the board with policy revisions on how staff members are compensated and what salary levels are based on, as well as contracts dealing with compensation.

Also included in the policy revisions are the structure and operation of charter schools and the board’s vision for health education. The board will discuss how health education will be presented, what topics it will cover and what guidelines it will follow. Revisions of graduation requirements and student absences and excuses will also be presented.

KCSD Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan and Director for Pupil Services Duane Pate will make a presentation on the possible structure for athletic (or, as listed on Tuesday’s agenda, “activities”) directors and head football coaches. The presentation is scheduled to provide data on how such positions are structured in neighboring school districts. A forecast of how athletic stipends will be adjusted will also be presented.

The board will also consider several facility rental requests.
