The late KCSO Deputy Rob Evans

Saturday, the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) will present Lugoff-Elgin Middle School (L-EMS) officials with a framed uniform shirt from Deputy Rob Evans who died unexpectedly in Nov. 2013 while directing school traffic. Evans served as the school resource officer at L-EMS for seven years and was a 14-year KCSO veteran.

The KCSO will make the presentation at 9:30 a.m. in the L-EMS gym during the West Wateree River Athletic Conference wrestling tournament. The framed memorabilia also includes his basketball whistle, a photo of Evans and a plaque recognizing his love of L-EMS and L-EMS Leopard athletics.

Evans served as a L-EMS assistant basketball coach and was the voice of the Lugoff-Elgin middle and high school football teams.
