Clayton Lamar "Skip" Carmean, 61, of Camden, died Sunday, January 30, 2011. Born in Hudson, Michigan, he was the son of Melvin and Betty Carmean.

Mr. Carmean was a retired jockey and worked at the Camden Training Center.

He is survived by his children, Julie Ballahan, David, Jeanette, Tom, Jessica, Joey and Chuck Carmean; sister, Joyce Macklin; brothers, David A., Ralph and Danny Carmean.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Mr. Carmean’s memory to Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, P.O. Box 3387, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
