KCPRD offering youth baseball umpiring clinics

The Kershaw County Parks and Recreation Department will hold a pair of umpire certification clinics for those seeking to work Dixie Youth and/or Dixie Boys baseball games this spring and summer.

The class, which will last at least four hours which includes instruction and a test, for Dixie Youth umpires will be held on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. in the upstairs classroom in the Old National Guard Armory at 1034 West DeKalb St. in Camden.

The cost is $20 for certification and $5 for the umpires’ patch.

The class, which will last at least 3 1/2 hours which includes instruction and a test, for Dixie Boys umpires will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 9 a.m. in the upstairs classroom in the Old National Guard Armory at 1034 West DeKalb St. in Camden.

The cost is $20 for new certification and $35 for umpires renewing their certification.
