Funeral service for Gail Louise Ruffing, 71, will be held Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Rowan Presbyterian Church. Rev. Phillip McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rowan Presbyterian Church, 818 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, S.C. 29078.

Mrs. Ruffing died Friday, February 4, 2011. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Wilma Fridley Griffiths. She was a member of Rowan Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing and was a collector of owls and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was like a grandmother to the kids of Rowan Presbyterian Church and Blaney Elementary.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Joseph Louis Ruffing; children, Wilma Hutto (Bruce), Michael Ruffing, Jeffrey Ruffing (Barbara), Dianna Hutto (Bryan), and Kathleen Ruffner (Andrew); grandchildren, William Mahoney, Richard Rhubart Jr., April Orton, Abigail Ruffing, Joseph A. Ruffing (Jennifer), Amanda Louise Broniek, Justin Ruffing, Gregory Ruffner, Layne Ruffner, Evan Ruffing, Cierra Ruffing, and Matthew Ruffner; 2 great-granddaughters; a great-grandson on the way; brothers, Glenn Griffiths (Pam) and James Griffiths (Barb); sisters, Kathryn Rogers (Dave), Linda Brown (Richard), and Judy Kropko (Dan); and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Lingenfelter. She was predeceased by brothers, Charles Griffiths and George Griffiths; sister, Wilma Betts; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Margaret Ruffing.
