Polis pride

Sharon White’s tenth grade world history class at Lugoff-Elgin High School competed in a Polis Pride lesson to learn about the ancient Greek city-states.  Students developed skits and performed for classmates in order to share their knowledge.  The competitions throughout the week were physical and intellectual to illustrate the Greek ideal of balance between intellect and physical strength.  The students in the city state of Argos won the competitions.
