UWKC participating in summer food service program

The United Way of Kershaw County (UWKC) is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children 18 years old or younger without charge. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.

Tentative program dates are June 2 through Aug. 7.

To date, meals will be provided at the following sites: Lil’Angels Daycare Center, Camden High School, Jackson Elementary School, Blaney Elementary School, Pine Tree Hill Elementary School, Jackson Teen Center, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Boy Scouts), Bethlehem Baptist Church, Arts Arising (FAC), Midway Elementary School, East Camden Shalom, Bethel Worship Center, Camden Cove Apartments, Baron DeKalb Elementary School, Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, Old Armory (next to the recreation department on West DeKalb Street), Bethune Recreation Center, Camp Sun Fun, Wateree Elementary School and St. Matthew Community Center.

Other schools, churches or organizations hosting a summer youth activities program which would like to become a Summer Food Program site can contact the UWKC office at 432-0951.
