A funeral service to celebrate the life of James Bailey Watts, 79, of Camden, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 11, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Camden. Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow in Quaker Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, April 10, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. The Watts family will also receive friends following the burial at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County, 810 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC. Memorials may be made in Jim’s memory to the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County, 810 Lyttleton Street Camden, SC 29020 or Habitat for Humanity of Kershaw County, 116 East DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020.

James Bailey Watts, widower of Patricia Plyler Watts, died Monday, April 6, 2015. He was born in Pageland, SC, 05/24/1935 the son of the late Faye Funderburk Watts and Jasper Brasington Watts.

He is survived by sons, James Bailey Watts, II (Darla) of Jefferson. SC., Charles Elliott Watts (Rheta) of Cornith, TX, Michael Brasington Watts of Charlotte, NC, and daughter Lisa Taylor Milovanovic (Rocky) of Sanibel. FL.: grandchildren, Bailey Renee Watts, David Watts, Sawyer Watts, Andrew Watts, Ashleigh Watts, Nikole Hilton, Amanda Turner, Krystal Stoner, Michelle Melton, Jessica Blackwell and Angela Rollins, 24 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Plyler and Elizabeth Watts and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents Jim was predeceased by his brother, Larry Watts of Memphis, TN.

Mr. Watts graduated from Pageland High and Furman University, Greenville, SC with a BA in Economics, 1957. He retired Executive VP, Human Resources, Associates Corporation of North America, Irving, TX from 1975-1997; prior positions with American Credit Corporation and NCNB, Charlotte, NC and served on the Board of Directors of numerous organizations; Kershaw Health Hospital Foundation, Camden, SC, Fine Arts Center, Camden, SC First Baptist Church, Camden, SC, Furman University, Greenville, SC, Habitat for Humanity of Kershaw County, Camden, SC Wachesaw Plantation, Murrells Inlet, SC, Lewisville Medical Center, Hospital, Lewisville, TX, North Texas Bank, Lewisville, TX, Denton County Club, Denton, TX, Tejas Fiesta (Chairman), American Cancer Society, Lewisville, TX, Arts Foundation, Lewisville, TX and founded and served on the Board of Lewisville Education Foundation, Lewisville, TX, AFSA Human Resources and Professional Development Committee (Chairman) and Dallas Personnel Association, Dallas, TX.

He also is served as Trustee, Limestone College, Gaffney, SC and Chairman, National Investment Banking School, University of North Carolina. He was Life Trustee, Hospital Corporation of America, Lewisville, TX. Jim was a US Army veteran SFC (E-6) and he served from 1954 to 1961. Jim has been the Adult School Teacher at First Baptist Church, Myrtle Beach SC and a member of the Adult Sunday School at First Baptist in Camden, SC.
