"More than Conquerors" baseball clinic slated for March 5

The “More than Conquerors” baseball clinic will be held on Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wildwood Youth Complex in Lugoff.

The annual event is free and open to children of all ages. There will be a free hot dog lunch, prizes and autographs at the conclusion of the clinic.

 Marty Clary, former Atlanta Brave and Florida Marlin, Jeff Siegel, scout for the San Diego Padres, and KCRD director James Davis formerly with the  Cincinnati Reds' organization,  are scheduled to appear. There will be a radar gun on site to time the youngsters’ fastball.

Children will be taught basic baseball skills, including batting, pitching, running infield, outfield and catching. For more information, call Greg Sweet at 438-1991, Hugh McKinney at 432-4191, or Ken Jackson at 438-3660. In the event of rain, the event will be held at Lugoff First Baptist Church.
