Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) investigators arrested Donnie Lee Hudson, 32, of Lugoff, on two counts of criminal sexual conduct on a minor under 14 years of age. According to a KCSO press release, investigators first arrested Hudson on May 13.

Investigators reportedly told Hudson, who was in Richland County, they needed to talk to him about the allegations and he threatened to take his own life. The lead investigator convinced Hudson to voluntarily submit to questioning, after which he was arrested and taken to the Kershaw County Detention Center (KCDC) and later released on $110,000 bond, according to the press release.

Further investigation led to a third charge of third degree criminal sexual conduct on a minor under age 14 and investigators arrested Hudson again Monday after he turned himself in with his attorney present. Deputies again took him to the KCDC and is awaiting a bond hearing on the new charge.

Investigators also seized Hudson’s cell phone and executed a search warrant for its contents to determine whether or not additional charges will be brought against him dealing with child pornography.

Hudson has no previous arrests on record, according to the press release.
