The Kershaw County Board of School Trustees meets Tuesday evening, beginning with recognitions for the Camden High School baseball team and the Lugoff-Elgin High School softball team.

The rather short agenda includes a presentation on the new district and school website format and about online registration. Other items listed on the agenda include a time for public comments, the chairman’s report, a financial report and an update from Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan.

Morgan and Chairman Ron Blackmon spoke to the Kershaw County Council last Tuesday to outline the district’s budget request of a 4.6 mil tax increase, primarily to fund salary increases. The council will consider the request at their next meeting, Tuesday, June 23.
