Corrections and clarifications

In a Feb. 16 article on two recent home invasions, the description of where the crimes took place was incorrect.

Due to a duplication of addresses along Jefferson Davis Highway, also known as U.S. 1, in “Camden,” there are some seemingly identical addresses in the 29020 and 29032 zip codes.

The area where a Feb. 12 home invasion and a similar incident in late November 2010 took place was mistakenly identified as being several miles north of Woodward Field Airport based on researching the addresses using “Camden” as the city. When this was done, the addresses were mapped to properties that appeared to be in the 29032 zip code.

Further research using the Kershaw County Assessor’s Office online mapping system shows both incidents actually occurred in the 29020 zip code, in the general vicinity of the intersection of Jefferson Davis and Bishopville highways.

The C-I regrets the error and any distress caused to the victims of these crimes.
