The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will hold a boating class from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Lake Wateree Baptist Church, 5856 River Road.

The course, “About Boating Safely,” is certified by the S.C. Department of Natural Resources and graduates will be awarded the S.C. Boater Education Card.

In South Carolina, boaters younger than 16 are required by law to pass an approved boater education course before operating, without supervision, a personal watercraft (PWC) or a boat powered by a motor with 15 hp or more.

Course fee is $25 per person, or $40 or two family members sharing the same boating manual. Students younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult enrolled in the class. Class size is limited.
