Lugoff-Elgin High School (L-EHS) students pray on the L-EHS football field during a previous Fields of Faith.

On Monday, Oct. 26, Lugoff-Elgin High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will host Fields of Faith at the Lugoff-Elgin High School (L-EHS) stadium from 7 to 8:30 p.m. David Sons from Lake Murray Baptist Church will be the speaker for the event.

"Basically, this is a gathering for the community to come together, share their faith and grow in God’s word together," FCA Monday Night Coordinator and Senior Officer Braxton Byrd said.

FCA Big Event Coordinator and Senior Officer Hannah Potter said the purpose of the event is outreach.

"We really don’t want the emphasis to just be on FCA in our high school. We want to reach out to our community in order to spread the word of God … (and) share God’s love," Potter said.

The event will also feature music, prayer and student testimonies from L-EHS students Summer Raspberry and Sam Sims.

"We have a speaker and two student testimonies. There will be a band from Ben Lippen there to lead us in worship after the message, then we will go down to the field and pray in different groups," FCA Bible Study Coordinator and Senior Officer Heath Byrd said.

Students also emphasized that anyone can participate in the event or in FCA.

"We want to show love to our community and we want to spread the word about FCA as well and just to let everyone know God is real, he’s present and he is great. It’s open to everyone. We want to minister to sport teams and to people who are athletes but anyone is welcomed," Potter said.
