Dr. James D. Smith, D.C., will open his new practice, Camden Clinic of Chiropractic, at 408 E. DeKalb St., Suite D, Camden, Monday.

He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas, as well as a second Bachelor’s degree in Anatomy. Smith has been a chiropractor for the past 10 years in Pennsylvania and in his own private practice for the past five years in Monroeville, Pa.

Grounded in his faith and his sense of community, Smith said, he was raised in a tight-knit family from a small town near Pittsburgh, Pa. While in practice in Pennsylvania, he said he carried those experiences into professional life, establishing himself as an active member of the community with involvement in organizations such as the chamber of commerce, Monroeville Health & Safety Committee and the Rotary Club. Smith also taught anatomy and physiology at a professional school.

In addition, Smith was honored with a community leadership award in 2007 and he was among chiropractors to provide services at the U.S. Open Golf Championship at Oakmont Country Club.

Smith and his wife, Gail, have one daughter, Giana, 3. They live in Camden and are active members of their church.

“My wife and I look forward so much to living in a community where we feel a sense of belonging can raise children and continue to grow as a family, as well as one that can benefit from my special style of care,” said Smith. “Gail and I are thrilled to have found that community in Camden!”

Smith’s practice is focused on the use of relief and corrective techniques that successfully deal with problem cases, structural rehabilitation, extremity problems, migraine headaches, and fibromyalgia, as well as many other problems.

“My mission is to help my patients understand what they are experiencing and provide the very best that chiropractic has to offer to help them regain their health and enjoy life to the fullest,” said Smith.

The phone number for Camden Clinic of Chiropractic is 272-0990.
