The city of Camden and Camden Media Co. will jointly publish a new annual magazine, Camden: Classically Carolina, starting in early May. Celebrating the announcement (from left) are Camden Media Co. General Manager Betsy Greenway, Camden Economic/Tourism Development Director Suzi Sale and Editor Martha Bruce.

In a joint statement today, the city of Camden and Camden Media Company announced plans to launch a new glossy publication to market the city of Camden.

The magazine will be called Camden: Classically Carolina and will utilize all federally registered branding graphics, style guides, logos, icons, monikers and message points especially created during the development of the city’s strategic marketing and tourism development plan. In addition to being utilized in this magazine, the city is using the Classically Carolina brand message on signage, billboards, advertisements, letterhead and more.

“We are very excited to work with Camden Media Company in producing a new economic development tool for the city. This will be an excellent way to showcase Camden’s vitality, character, qualities and assets as the best place in the Carolinas to visit, work, live and enjoy life,” Camden Economic/Tourism Development Director Suzi Sale said.

The magazine will be edited by former Chronicle-Independent editor Martha Bruce.

More than 6,000 copies of Camden: Classically Carolina will be distributed through a variety of local, regional, statewide and national distribution channels, including welcome centers, real estate brokerages, relocation specialists, statewide commerce and economic development offices. In addition, the city’s Economic / Tourism Development Office will include the magazine in all business development prospecting, media relations, and group sales/rental initiatives. The magazine will also be available on the Chronicle-Independent’s website (www.chronicle-independent.com) and the city’s website (www.cityofcamden.org).

“Our magazine division is flourishing and I’m delighted, as publisher, that we were chosen by the city for the important task of publishing the official city of Camden magazine,” Camden Media Co. Publisher Mike Mischner said.

In addition to Camden: Classically Carolina, Camden Media Co.’s magazine division includes the Camden Horse & Equestrian, Blythewood Horse & Equestrian, Discover Camden-Kershaw County and Lee Magazine in Lee County.

Advertising opportunities will be available for the inaugural issue of Camden Classically Carolina. For further information, contact General Manager Betsy Greenway at (803) 432-6157 or bgreenway@chronicle-independent.com.

Camden Classically Carolina will premiere in early May and will be published annually.
