Scoring a pair of goals in each half of play, the Lugoff-Elgin girls soccer team doubled-up visiting Sumter, 4-2, in a non-region match played Monday at Lugoff-Elgin Stadium.

The victory came on the heels of a 6-0 setback at the hands of Clover last Friday night. L-E improved to 4-3 overall with the win.

In what was a physical contest, senior forward Bailey Lewter scored a goal and added an assist for Carl Spoto’s charges. Ashley Smith, Katie Hoffman and Whitney Osborne, who had the game winner, also found the back of the nets for the hostesses.

On Tuesday, the Lady Demons were blanked by White Knoll, 2-0, in a non-conference match.
