Post 17 seeking Palmetto Boys State applications

James Leroy Belk American Legion Post No. 17 is seeking applications for Palmetto Boys State, to be held June 5-11 at Anderson University in Anderson.

Applicants should be motivated students interested in learning about citizenship and government, rising seniors of good character, and in the top 25 percent of their class. Information about Palmetto Boys State may be obtained from the Internet at www.palmetto boysstate.com. 

Applications are available from guidance councilors at Kershaw County’s high schools,  or may be obtained from the Palmetto Boys State committee chairman, Richard Lackey, 424 Cool Springs Drive, Camden, SC 29020 (phone: 432 9527).

Applications must be received by the Kershaw County School District Office or Richard Lackey by April 12.

The American Legion will hold interviews, in Camden, with all applicants and select 12 for Boys State 2016 attendance.
