Funeral services to celebrate the life of Murray Davis Rabon, 83, of Lugoff will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Springvale Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Todd Horton and Pastor Jerry Gardner will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made to Springvale Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 880, Lugoff, SC 29078.

Mr. Rabon , widower of Munice Rabon, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Born in Lugoff, he was the son of the late Burtis and Evelyn Branham Rabon. He was a US Army veteran. Mr. Rabon retired from Kershaw County Public Works. He was a member of Springvale Baptist Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Penny Jones (Frankie) of Camden; son, Lester Rabon (Dianne) of Lugoff; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Esther Faulk (James) and Myrtle Geddings (Gerald) both of Camden and Frances Ryan (Bob) of Lugoff and a special friend Mrs. Carolyn Jackson. He was predeceased by a son, Jerrell Rabon and a great-granddaughter, Allyson Crane and 4 brothers.

The family would like to thank Chester and Anna Owens and the staff of Southwinds Assisted Living for their loving care of Mr. Rabon.
