Race day nears for Saturday’s Clinic Classic 5K run/walk

The ninth annual Clinic Classic 5K walk/run will take to the streets of Camden on Saturday, April 30.

The races will start at 8:30 a.m. and will begin and end at the Community Medical Clinic located on 110-C East DeKalb Street in Camden, behind the United Way building.

The registration fee is $30 for the 5K walk/run with a timing chip and $25 for the 5K run/walk without a timing chip. 

In addition to the Clinic Classic, a 1-mile Challenge is also included to encourage a healthy competition among Kershaw County elementary schools. The winning school will have the greatest number of participants on their team, such as students, parents, siblings and teachers. The winning school will receive $750 from McDonald’s to be used at the discretion of the principal.  

Race packets may be picked up and race day registration will be conducted at the Community Medical Clinic beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 30. No refunds will be issued and the race will be held rain or shine.

Awards will be presented to the top male and female runner and age groups while refreshments will be available for all participants following the race which is run over a USATF certified course.

Proceeds from the Clinic Classic benefit the Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County which provides medical care to those without health insurance in Kershaw County.
