The 2016 Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail will stop at Lake Wateree today and Saturday for the catfish fishing tournament.

The event features a minimum $5,000 payback.

Anglers will take to the water on Saturday beginning at 6:30 a.m. with a 3 p.m. stop time. Weigh-ins will begin at 4 p.m. at Clearwater Cove Marina on Lake Wateree.

In addition to the fishing competition itself, there will also be a Kids Fishing Rodeo, hosted by the City of Camden and presented by Crappie USA and Cabela’s King Kat Trail, at Clearwater Cove featuring a kids fishing tournament from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Signups begin at 8 a.m. and continue until 9 a.m. at Clearwater Cove. Young anglers are invited to bring their favorite fishing pole in an event in which live bait will be allowed.

A parent or guarding must accompany each youngster taking part in the rodeo.

All participating kids 12 and under will be eligible to win one of six $1,000 scholarships. Winners will be drawn at the Crappie USA Classic later this year.
